As a globally operating family business with over 60 employees, IML is aware of its responsibility. As market leader of wood testing systems, IML has made a significant contribution to safety in everyday life since 1985. The last months have shown what is important. Entire industries were shut down because necessary supply chains were disrupted.
“Every future-oriented and sustainable idea, no matter how small, should now be tested with precision and implemented with passion,” says Fabian Hunger, one of three IML CEOs.
The new building is being built on the 17,000 square meter property in the industrial area in Wiesloch and will be optimally connected to the company headquarters by an access to the production. With approximately 3,000 square meters of storage space and 180 square meters of seminar center, IML is setting another milestone for the future until its finalization in July 2021 and is further expanding its market leadership.

IML seminar center with practical application
In the new IML seminar center, participants can be trained both indoor and outdoor. For practical application, a 100 square meter practice area is being created, which meets all your demands. In addition, future-oriented models for online training are also being considered in the new seminar center. At the same time, IML does not only want to share its own expertise, but also to offer a platform to other experts from the industry and to promote them. IML employees work today on the implementation of the seminar program of tomorrow.
Our vision of sustainability
The issue of sustainability is very important to the family business from Wiesloch, which is also being reflected in the vision of the new building. The entire new building on the same property will be connected to the existing energy system and heat compressors. The waste heat generated in production can perfectly be used for heat supply and unnecessary energy costs can be avoided.
The ideal location
As you would expect from IML products, the plans for the new building are well thought out. Erich Hunger, founder and CEO of IML, had an expansion in mind for several years already and so, when buying the company’s property, the possibility of expansion was already considered in order to avoid unnecessary delivery routes. The central location and fast connection to the Walldorf highway intersection (approx. 5 min drive) makes the location extremely attractive.
